Garvey’s Tralee Warriors U20 Men got their League campaign off to a flying start with a convincing 88-41 victory over UCC Demons in Moyderwell on Friday night. The Warriors laid the foundation for the win with a dominant opening quarter, racing into a 30-9 lead. Ryan Sheehy and Liam Rahilly set the tone offensively with a major score each, with Kevin O’Shea adding back-to-back efforts at the board. Brooklyn Conway and Rory Bowler also got in on the act as the hosts finished the first quarter 30—9 up.
Demons responded early in the second through Joshua Barry and Daniel O’Keeffe, but the Warriors quickly reasserted when Conway from inside, Bowler from distance and a brace from Seán Cantwell helped Tralee stretch their advantage to 49-20 at half time.

The Demons opened the scoring in what was a tame third quarter, but three pointers from Paddy Lucid and Sheehy kept Warriors’ in total control. David Watson and Daniel Spring added late on and the hosts went into the final quarter with a commanding 63-32 lead.

The Warriors finished strongly, scoring at will as Conway, Bowler and Rahilly continued to find the basket. Rahilly was particularly impressive from three-point range, finishing with five majors, while Conway added another late major score.

A hugely positive opening-night performance leaves the Warriors in good shape ahead of tougher challenges to come.
